  1. For the curious people who didn't attend the Artists Conversation I wanted to share information about the 1 minute video I submitted to the To Let Art Program in this forum, hoping to provide you with an extended experience.

I use a painting by Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio entitled "The Incredulity of Saint Thomas" also known as Doubting Saint Thomas as a vehicle for exploring the concept of authority.

It is not the first time I use this painting of Caravaggio as a reference. In November 2008 I painted three panel painting with oil and beesvax on canvas. This painting deals with the same question about authority. What it means to be an authority and considering the consequences of this concept.

Reusing "The Incredulity of Saint Thomas" as a reference I reinvestigate how the concept of authority is related to beliefs.
And how a combination of factors can lead to the manufacturing of subjects. The result is the creation of suppressors and individuals being suppressed. A relationship which could be true of the two events inspiring the video collaboration "In The Morning".

The monochromatic three panel painting "Incredulity" can be viewed on my website www.michaelchang.dk. Filed under "Monochromatic paintings, 2008".

For further inspiration on the topic I recommend reading about "Sophism".
